- VLC now runs natively on M1 Macs The latest update to ubiquitous open-source media player VLC is here, and it comes with native support for Apple silicon Mac computers — the new versions of the MacBook Pro, the MacBook Air, and the Mac mini with Apple’s own M1 processor.
- PSA: The ubuntu VLC apt packages have not been updated to fix the recent vulnerability. I noticed my ubuntu box was still stuck on 3.0.9.2-1 over a week after the recent vulnerability disclosure. After some digging I notice that the ubuntu apt package manager is indeed still not updated to 3.0.12. This shouldn't apply as it is a security fix.
